Food poison claims couple in Pokhara

POKHARA, March 23: Both spouses in a family from Hemja of Pokhara Sub-Metropolis died on Sunday night due to food poison.

Bal Bahadur KC, 62, and his spouse Laxmi KC, 57, had eaten a local medicinal herb nirmashi mixing it with home-made dish of rice.


Injured seriously with the consumption, they were rushed to the Charak Memorial Hospital where they breathed their last, said the District Police Office, Kaski.

The police quoting the locals said the KC couple had complained of body ache and sought herbs with a neighbour. They were the parents of three.

All three offspring are living in the US.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, added the police. RSS
