FNJ delegation unable to meet PM

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: A central level delegation of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) that reached at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Thursday morning to submit its memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal returned without submitting the memorandum.  



“We decided to return without meeting the prime minister as he did not give us time even after we waited for an hour,” FNJ General Secretary Poshan KC told myrepublica.com.



The delegation was scheduled to submit a memorandum regarding the murder of journalist Uma Singh to Dahal at 9:45 a.m. They stayed there until 10:45 a.m. and headed towards the President’s office to submit a separate memorandum over the same issue to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, said our correspondent Kiran Chapagain.



The delegation was led by FNJ Chairman Dharmendra Jha. FNJ General Secretary KC and other senior journalists are part of the delegation.



Meanwhile, Kathmandu chapter of FNJ started staging a sit-in in front of the Home Ministry demanding action against the culprits. The sit-in would continues for half-an-hour starting 11:15 a.m., said our correspondent Kosh Raj Koirala.
