NAWALPUR, Oct 12: The flood survivors of Gaidakot-2 of Nawalparasi have been distributed food.
The District Disaster Management Committee, Nawalpur, and the FNCCI Gandaki Province jointly contributed the assistance to 130 households which were badly affected by the recent flood. They received the assistance on Friday morning.
The inundation was triggered by the flooded Narayani River in the wake of nonstop rainfall occurred on September 27 and 28.

FNCCI Gandaki Province Chairman Amrit Bhattachan informed that people affected by the flood and inundation were distributed food stuffs so that they could also celebrate Dashain festival with essentials.
Each household got eight kg of rice, two kg of pulse, one liter of cooking oil and seven packets of noodles.
The assistance cost Rs 400,000. The food items were managed by Jay Shree Foods Pvt and the representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Association.
Meanwhile, Chief District Officer in Nawalparasi East, Arun Pokharel, admitted that distribution of relief material was delayed to the Gaidakot flood survivors due to delayed information sharing on it. "We got the information so late, while other victims were already provided with the relief materials," he added.
CDO Pokhrel further shared that the flood victims were reported to have lost the important documents, so he would ensure facilitation to acquire the new documents again.
