KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Five startups have pitched their business ideas for investment in the second edition of I-Cube Business Incubation Demo Day.
The event organized by Nepal Communitere, a non-profit organization, is aimed at engaging potential Nepali seed investors, financial institutions, banks, donor agencies and key players of the Nepal entrepreneurial ecosystem with the five Nepali startups graduating from the yearlong I-Cube Business Incubation Program.
Business ideas matter
Antidote Apparels, Ecoorb Ventures, Airlift, Nuga: and Samata Gram Udyog had pitched for investment, strategic partnership and mentorship to accelerate their business, according to Nepal Communitere.
Issuing a press statement, the organizer said that the five companies were looking for Rs 1 million to Rs 1.5 million investments. "Many investors, who attended the event, supported these early-stage startups by pledging amounts ranging from Rs 100,000 to Rs 300,000 each," it added in the statement.
Speaking at the program, Bahar Kumar, executive director at Nepal Communitere said: “This Demo Day aims not only to invest in the new startups, but also to support the visionary and sustainable ideas that ultimately contribute to develop Nepal's future.” Similarly, Trishagni Shakya, Director of KGH Foundation, also one of the investors of Year I I-Cube batch said: “We invest in these startups to build Nepali solutions for Nepali problems that address Nepal's development”.
