Fifth National Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition kick starts in Chitwan

KATHMANDU, March 24: The Fifth National Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition has started in Chitwan from Wednesday. Stakeholders have emphasized on the need to focus on the production of agricultural implements in the country during the exhibition.

KATHMANDU, March 24: The Fifth National Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition has started in Chitwan from Wednesday. Stakeholders have emphasized on the need to focus on the production of agricultural implements in the country during the exhibition.


On the occasion, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr Govinda Prasad Sharma Acharya stressed the need for increasing mechanization in agriculture. He stressed the need for unification of all the three levels of government, parties and the private sector to modernize the agricultural sector.

Similarly, Dr Acharya said that it would be easy to modernize as the attraction of youth in the agricultural sector has increased. Revathi Raman Poudel, Director General of the Department of Agriculture, suggested that the private sector should demand a plan from the government to increase the production of agricultural machinery and equipment in the country.


The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Department of Agriculture, Center for Agriculture Infrastructure Development and Mechanization Promotion, Prime Minister's Agriculture Modernization Project and Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs Association.
