KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the Federal Civil Service Act will be passed by tomorrow's Cabinet meeting and sent to parliament.
Speaking at the meeting of the National Assembly on Monday, PM Dahal said that the Federal Civil Service Act is ready to be passed by the Council of Ministers meeting tomorrow and sent to parliament. He said that when the bill related to education was presented in the Council of Ministers, it was modified and stopped because it was different from the main bill.
Bill bars local units from recruiting civil servants
He mentioned that after the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal, 191 new and amended laws have been enacted so far and 15 bills are currently in the parliamentary process.
He said, “15 different bills submitted by the Nepal government in the federal parliament are in the parliamentary process. It is not true that the law was changed again after pressure came from outside. When the education bill was being presented to the cabinet, I myself saw that it was somewhat different from the original bill. Even after it was said that it should be revised and re-examined, two or three days of agitation appeared.”
PM Dahal said that according to the Constitution of Nepal, the laws related to development and construction are in the list of common rights of the federal, provincial and local levels and are in the process of being made. Similarly, he said that the government is doing the necessary homework to re-submit the bills that were inactive in the previous House of Representatives.
