Federal Alliance gives ultimatum to govt to register amendment proposal

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The Federal Alliance (FA) that includes the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has expressed concern over the ignorance on part of the government to register constitution amendment proposal in the house even within the timeframe that it unilaterally announced.

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The Federal Alliance (FA) that includes the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has expressed concern over the ignorance on part of the government to register constitution amendment proposal in the house even within the timeframe that it unilaterally announced.


The meeting of the Alliance held Thursday at the Office of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal office at Tinkune took a decision to take to the streets if the constitution amendment bill was not registered by coming November 15.

 As no indication was seen whereby the government would register the bill, a decision was taken to resume agitation, said the Alliance Secretariat member Keshav Jha.


"Programs of protest will begin from tomorrow in one form or the other but we will wait until mid-November, and then go for nationwide agitation if it does not take place within that time," Jha said.


Coordinator of the Alliance Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Tarai-Madhesh Democratic Party Mahantha Thakur, President of Tarai Madhesh Samajbadi Party Sharat Singh Bhandari, and other leaders attended the meeting. RSS
