KATHMANDU, July 18: The Federal Alliance, an alliance of ethnic and Madhesi parties, collected Rs 1.8 million donations during the relay hunger strike staged against the constitution.
The amount was collected for the management of the relay hunger strike staged for 39 days at Khullamanch in the Capital City.
“Rs 1.50 million was collected from 42 lawmakers associated with the Federal Alliance and remaining amount from 29 parties in the Alliance,” senior leader of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) Ram Naresh Raya told Republica Online.
According to Spokesperson of Rastriya Madhes Samajwadi Party, Keshav Jha, the collected amount was spent on tents, chairs, mikes and security arrangements among others required at the venue.
He added that Rs 8.50 million out of the donation has been spent till 39th day of the hunger strike.
