Joshi Medical Hall’s proprietor Ishwari Prasad Joshi found the note while counting his money.
The note was made on a very thin, low-quality paper and the governor’s signature and border colors do not match with the original notes, Joshi said. He added that the letters on the note were also erased by water.
Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Dadeldhura Arjun Chand said they would send the note to the Dhangadhi branch of Nepal Rastra Bank for investigation.
Chand said counterfeit note rackets may be active in crowded places during the Gaura festival. He said police would carry further investigation into the matter.
