Troubled DC Extended Universe star Ezra Miller recently returned to the set of The Flash for reshoots, according to the report of CBR (Comic Book Resources).

The Wrap reports that Miller arrived on the Warner Bros. lot near the beginning of October to shoot a day of pickups. The news comes several weeks after Miller apologized to the studio heads in person, acknowledging the "negative attention" their erratic pattern of behavior brought to the project and the company. Miller's apology came on the heels of a public statement announcing they were seeking mental health treatment after a series of arrests and other legal issues beginning around 2020.

Miller's August statement described their recent series of public scandals and legal troubles as "a time of intense crisis" in the actor's life. "I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment," the statement said. "I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life."

Before Miller's apology, Warner Bros. was reportedly considering all avenues with regard to The Flash, including scrapping the film altogether. This was allegedly a wake-up call for Miller, who reportedly hadn't considered changing course until they discovered the project was in danger of collapse. A source close to the actor said at the time, "They care about The Flash. It’s one of their favorite characters to play." With filming having wrapped in October 2021 and now Miller's reshoots complete, Warner Bros. has reportedly locked in a final cut of The Flash, with only VFX work and final polishing left to carry out.

Warner Bros.' willingness to reconcile with Miller may have to do with how well The Flash is testing with audiences. At one point the film was reportedly testing better than any previous DCEU movie, and another report went even further to suggest The Flash's test audience scores were DC's highest since Christopher Nolan's acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy. While Miller's involvement in any of the film's promotional events remains to be seen, DCEU fans are surely in for a wild time when The Flash hits cinemas next year.

The Flash zooms into theaters on June 23, 2023, presented in IMAX.
