KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Astronaut Buzz Aldrin speaking at a function organized at Nepal Academy Hall in the Capital City on Thursday urged youths to keep exploring and never give up.

Aldrin arrived in Nepal on Sunday on a five-day tour along with his team.

“Humanity needs to explore, we explore or we expire. We need to push beyond the current limits, just like we did in 1969. Apollo Mission was a story of people at their very best. We started with a dream, and we did the impossible.”

Sharing his pain for being rejected for the Moon Mission in the first attempt, astronaut Aldrin said that his determination and passion for the mission helped him to get selected at last.

“I believe that the impossible can be done again. So all of us, let's go for it,” he encouraged the youths at the jam-packed hall.

Talking about the next mission to Mars, Aldrin said that the state of human mental behavior will be the most difficult hurdle for the mission.

He further added that a country like Nepal can also contribute in space, giving examples of how Peru launched it's first homemade rocket, he said, "It isn't exactly necessary to launch a rocket, the youths of today can contribute little by little, and we together can build and attain the impossible."

The speech was followed by a presentation of short clips of Aldrin's mission to the Moon, some delightful events, including the first 'selfie' on space, photographs of his footprints and his interest in astronomy.

The event was an opportunity for students and other youths interested in physics and science to meet with the Moon astronaut and get knowledge about astronomy.
