KATHMANDU, Dec 9: Even though electronics items are showing subdued sales post-festivals, distributors of leading brands in the home appliances segment are opening exclusive and exquisite showrooms at strategic locations in the Kathmandu valley.

Him Electronics that has been distributing Samsung electronics products for 12 years now has bolstered its presence by opening exclusive showrooms in Durbar Marg and Kumaripati. [break]It has recently added two new showrooms - one at Civil Mall in Sundhara and the other at New Baneshwor.

The new showrooms have been christened Samsung Plaza and the company says these plazas aim at binding and inspiring consumers at the community level with new technology, innovative products, and creative solutions.

These plazas assert its objective as a one-stop destination for the complete range of home appliances - from audio-visual products, home appliances to mobile phones.

The stores also have on display the company´s latest range of SMART TV, 3D LED and LCD TVs, Samsung digital smart cameras along with the entire range of color televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, air-conditioners, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, music systems and DVD players.

“Our Baneshwor outlet targets to serve the people coming from the Bhaktapur area. Now, people from that area need not come all the way to the city since they can have easy access to our products nearby,” said Neelam Gauchan, Sales Executive at Samsung Plaza in Civil Mall.

Likewise, CG Impex - distributor of LP products that operates with LG Shoppe at Minbhawan as the main showroom - has recently expanded its presence in Civil Mall in Sundhara and Chabahil by opening new retail outlets. These outlets sell LG products and also incorporate CG products.

“These outlets provide all LG home appliances and mobile phones,” said Roshit Thapa, Sale Executive at LG´s main showroom at Minbhawan.

Distributors have been welcoming customers to these exclusive showrooms to get familiar with the products and look at the choices available. To put consumers at ease, the showrooms are manned by well-trained and well-informed staff, who readily provide information about the products.

Samsung Plaza at Durbar Marg, for instance, has 12 to 13 employees and the other outlets too have around 5 to 6 trained staff members, informed Gauchan.

Apart from assuring the customers of after-sales service, these exclusive showrooms also award discounts in a range of 5 to 7 percent.
