Ex PM Nepal for re-examining of Madhes citizenships

BARA, Dec 14: Former prime minister and senior CPN UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has demanded re-examine of citizenships distributed in Tarai Madhes in 2006.

Addressing a cadres meeting at Simara, Bara on Monday, Nepal said that re-examine is must as many Indians had taken citizenships during that time.He also said that many Madhes people living in Nepal for decades will have to suffer as most of Indians have taken the Nepali citizenships.

Nepal also said that India has been rebuffed following its blockade imposed in Nepal over the latter's constitution.

He also accused that some Indian media, few politicians and government officials are biased on rights granted to Madhes and indigenous people of Madhes without proper research.

The former prime minister claimed that Nepal Constitution 2015 is among the best in the world.
