Ex-PM Nepal extends Bakrid wishes

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has extended best wishes to all the Muslims sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid), the important festival of the Muslim community.



In a message of best wishes today, the former Prime Minister has said diversity in caste, language, religion and culture is specialty and culture of Nepal and stressed the need of protecting our festivals, by keeping the communal harmony and national integrity intact. [break]



Stating that Nepal is passing through political instability and transition, he said the establishment of durable peace and development of the country through the November 19 Constituent Assembly election is possible only through collective efforts of all the caste and communities and unity among them.



"May this festival inspire one and all to gear up in the campaign of nation building, resolving all the problems in the country and meeting our inspirations for happiness, peace and progress," the message states.
