Ex Nepal Army soldier arrested in Saudi Arab

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on have arrested a murder convict from Saudi Arab with the help of INTERPOL.


Narayan Adhikari of Siddha VDC in Kaski was convicted by court in the charge of murdering Shiva Thapa of Siddha-7, Kaski some 18 years ago.



Former Nepal Army (NA) soldier, Adhikari was on the run after killing Thapa on October 28, 1998.



Nepal Police was searching Adhikari issuing a Red Corner notice after he was convicted by the court.

Kaski District Court had sentenced life imprisonment to Adhikari on May 1, 2000.



As CIB investigation showed that murder convict Narayan Adhikari, ex-NA soldier Narayan Bahadur Adhikari and migrant worker Jeevan Bahadur Adhikari working in Saudi Arab were not three different individuals but the same person, the CIB had issued Red Corner notice to arrest him.


According to the CIB, he was brought back to Nepal on Saturday and sent to Central Jail on Sunday.
