Speaking at a function here to mark the completion of first year of operation of Etihad Airways in Nepal, Joost den Hartog, regional general manager- Indian Subcontinent, central and north Asia said he is happy at the success of the airline in Nepal “The impressive passenger numbers and loans capacity recorded are a solid reflection that the airlines is delivering a service that market in Nepal needs,” he said.
He informed that Etihad flies to 50 destinations across the globe with a fleet of 43 aircraft. He said the Kathmandu service has proven to be a valuable link for business and leisure travelers many of whom fly across the world connecting via Etihad’s home base in Abu Dhabi airport.
Kumar de Silva, country manager of Etihad-Nepal said the airline has been able to serve 90,000 Nepali nationals now living as foreign workers in UAE during its first year of operation.
