KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The need of incorporating the rights of youths in the new constitution has been stressed.

Speaking at an interaction organized by the Pupils and Development, an NGO, on Sunday, the participants underscored the need for remembering contributions delivered by youths during the people´s moment while writing a new constitution.

It has been stressed that a new statute should guarantee right to education as a fundamental right, ensure participation of youths in policy making and implementation level, guarantee employment for youths, give priority to youths from backwards committee and to not prevent youths from becoming a president or members of constitutional bodies just on the basis of age.

Lawmaker Dama Sharma and Khuma Subedi said new constitution draft reports could be changed and made youth-friendly by exerting pressure on the authorities concerned.

According to Chairman of the organizing body Suraj Kagle, a report will be prepared by compiling suggestions furnished at the programme and its copies handed over to all lawmakers.
