Election schedule approved, silence period to begin from November 17

KATHMANDU, August 9: The Election Commission (EC) has approved the schedule of federal and provincial assembly member elections to be held on November 20.

KATHMANDU, August 9: The Election Commission (EC) has approved the schedule of federal and provincial assembly member elections to be held on November 20.


According to EC, the nominations for the members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly will be registered on October 9. Likewise, the election officer will be appointed on September 27 and the office will be established on October 7.

The EC has informed that the final list will be published on October 12. The schedule for submitting the closed list on the proportional side has been fixed for September 18 and 19.


Ballot printing will start from October 14. Ballot papers will be printed by Janak Education Material Centre. According to the EC, there will be a ban on publicity campaigns from midnight on November 17. Voting will be held on November 20 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
