UDAYAPUR, Feb 14: An elderly man waiting to collect his allowance at a distribution center in Udayapur died on Monday.



Seventy-three-year old Krishna Bahadur Rawat of Udayapur Municipality-12 had been waiting in queue to collect his social security allowance provided by the government.



 "The elderly man had arrived at the distribution center early in the morning accompanied by a woman and several differently-abled people," said Dahalbahar Danuwar, an adviser to the Municipality 12, adding, "When his turn came at 11am to collect his allowance, the elderly suddenly fainted. Before anyone could come to his aid, he had stopped breathing." 



According to the police, the body of the deceased has been taken to a government hospital in Udayapur for post-mortem. Rawat's family was informed of the incident and although they were against post-mortem, the body was taken to the hospital to fulfill legal procedures,  according to Danuwar.
