EC says voting going on smoothly from morning

KATHMANDU, May 14: Election Commission has said that the voting for local level election is going on smoothly in all three provinces from early morning.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Election Commission has said that the voting for local level election is going on smoothly in all three provinces from early morning.


The EC spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma said that voters turn out is encouraging and the first phase of local level elections has gone successfully so far.

"There was some disturbance in Dolakha in the morning but things are now settled and voting has started there by now," said Spokesperson Sharma.


"A group had taken away electoral materials from the polling station at Chhayanath Rara Municipality-12 in Mugu but the EC has already supplied the needed materials there and the election is going on in the place too," he added.


According to Spokesperson Sharma, the EC has designated authorities to the returning officers and they will decide and start counting votes soon after the voting is over.
