Eastpole College makes winning start

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Eastpole College on Wednesday made a winning start in the Intercollege Six-A-Side football tournament organized by Kumari Boarding School (KEBS).

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Eastpole College on Wednesday made a winning start in the Intercollege Six-A-Side football tournament organized by Kumari Boarding School (KEBS). Eastpole defeated Royalty College ‘A’ 2-0 in the penalty shootout. The match was pushed into the penalty shootout after the teams played a goalless draw in the regulated time of 40 minutes. In the other matches played on the same day, GEMS College beat Arunima College 1-0, Ideal College saw off Bajra College 3-0 and KU City defeated the host KEBS 3-0.

Thames to meet Universal in BBA Cup final

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Thames International College and Universal College will meet against each other for the summit clash of the ongoing Nepal College of Commerce (NCC) BBA Cup. In first of the two semifinal matches played in Mulpani Cricket Ground, Mulpani on Wednesday, Thames defeated Kathmandu Model College (KMC) by 54 runs to secure final berth. Thames scored 114 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs whilst KMC could only muster 60 runs in 16.1 over before losing all 10 wickets. All-rounder Rohan Katwal scored 47 runs and picked up four wickets in the match to propel Thames in the final. Similarly, Universal College defeated Patan Multiple Campus (PMC) by 19 runs in the second semifinal match of the day. Gopal Pariyar of Universal scored 60 runs to lead his team to 133 runs in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. PMC could only score 114 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs conceding the match to Universal College by 19 runs. Pariyar was adjudged man of the match. Thames will meet Universal in BBA cup final. The 

final will be played on Thursday.
