FALEBAS (Parbat), July 1: The Early Warning System (EWS) is to be installed in two big rivers of the district with high chance of risks to different settlements due to growing water current in rivers in rainy season.
The EWS is to be set up in the Kaligandaki River and Modi Rivulet flowing through Parbat district.
Assistant Chief District Officer Praveen Dhakal shared that the preparation is on to set up the system to prevent human settlements from risks resulted in by increasing water current in the rainy season.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
A meeting of the Disaster Relief Committee held at the District Administration Office on Thursday took the decision to set up the system in the rivers within this fiscal year.
The Kaligandaki River has posed threats to human settlements in and around Baribeni, Milanchowk, Farse, Maldhunga, Sahashradhara, Modibeni, Imichaur and Shaligram Sheela area in the northern and southern belt of district.
Likewise, the Modi Rivulet has threatened the human settlements at Dimuwa, Birethanti, Ambot, Dobilla and Modibeni, among others. RSS
