Drinking water shortage in Gaushala

BARDIBAS, Sept 21: Local residents face the shortage of drinking water in Gaushala bazaar of Mahottari district after the Nepal Electricity Authority cut the power of Gaushala drinking water consumers´ committee.



Local NEA Office cut power at the drinking water office since it has not cleared tariff for the last 15 years. [break]



Hundreds of families from Gaushala and its surrounding are forced to go Nigaul VDC to fetch drinking water after the drinking water´s shortage in the area, said local residents.



The power was cut at the drinking water office as it has the due of Rs. 450,000 to clear NEA, said Jaleshwor Branch of NEA.



It has been difficult to fetch drinking water from distance due to incessant rainfall, said local resident Ajay Kumar Shah.
