KATHMANDU: Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has detained around two dozen lorries and initiated investigations over their alleged involvement in carrying goods imported illegally from India and China. [break]

According to a DRI official, the lorries were taken into control from Thankot, the main entry point to Kathmandu Valley from Southern border and the Arniko Highway, the sole roadway that links the country with China. “We have detained the lorries on clues that we have gleaned from various sources,” but declined to elaborate about the ongoing investigation.
