The hospital source said that the Ministry of Finance has allocated Rs 50 million special grant to the hospital. The TU executive council has also extended the TUTH ceiling to up to Rs 10 million.
Expressing disappointment with the government´s indifference and lack of cooperation from senior staff at the hospital, Dr Koirala submitted his resignation on March 1.
Hospital employees, representatives of several social organizations, clubs and the locals of Maharajgung area piled pressure on the government and the TU authority not to accept Dr Koirala´s resignation and fulfill his demands.
