Shrestha also urged his Canadian counterpart to invest in Nepal´s hydro power projects and stressed on the need to end the dual tax provision so as to increase the trade volume between the two countries, said the Permanent Nepal Mission in UN.
The two leaders also discussed the issues relating to bilateral relations and increasing economic assistance.
The Permanent Nepali Mission in UN said that Baird told Shrestha to hold discussions in the Council of Ministers regarding enlisting Nepal in the priority list of extending formal development aid.
Likewise, DPM Shrestha stressed for constituting a consultation mechanism to strengthen the bilateral relations between Nepal and Kyrgyzstan by holding discussion with the Kyrgyz Foreign Affairs Minister, Ruslan Kajakbayev.
Similarly, Shrestha attended an informal meeting of the SAARC Council of Ministers organized by Maldivian Foreign Minister Ahmed Naseem at the sideline of the UN General Assembly.
