DPM Shrestha visits TIA Customs Office to inquire about gold smuggling case

KATHMANDU, July 21: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has reached the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) customs office to inquire about the 100 kg gold smuggling case.

KATHMANDU, July 21: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has reached the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) customs office to inquire about the 100 kg gold smuggling case.


Along with Shrestha, the chiefs of Nepal Police, National Investigation Department, Department  of Revenue Investigation and the Department of Immigration also reached the TIA customs office.

Last Wednesday, a team from the Department of Revenue Investigation seized about 100 kg of smuggled gold that was cleared by the TIA customs office.  About 10 people, including the driver of the taxi carrying the smuggled gold, have been arrested for investigation in connection with this case.
