The boys’ team of Prime defeated Ace 54-38. In the girls’ category, the hosts beat Orient 35-1 in a lopsided match. In other girls’ matches, defending champions Whitehouse and Golden Gate began their matches in a winning note.
Whitehouse saw off NASA 25-11 while Golden Gate ousted Rato Bangala 30-13. In the boys’ category, Trinity, Morgan International and Reliance won their respective matches. Trinity edged out defending champions Golden Gate 39-34.
Myagdi Magar Society wins archery title
Myagdi Magar Society (MMS) won the title of the team event of the First Open Tara Running Shield Archery Tournament on Thursday.
MMS became the team champions scoring a total of 143 points in the tournament held at Sukedhara, Kathmandu on the occasion of Tamu Losar.
Pokhrali team finished second with 130 points while Nepal Chhantyal Association secured the third position with 125 points.
The top three teams bagged a purse of Rs 21,000, Rs 16,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively. Kamal Gurung was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
