KATHMANDU, OCT 16: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM), in a bid to distribute 1.2 million smart license cards, has called for bidding from the interested firms.
Issuing a public notice on Sunday, the DoTM has invited foreign companies of Nepali JV firms to supply the license cards. The companies will have to maintain a deposit of Rs 6.564 million (US $ 50,000) to participate in the bidding process.

The company to be contracted will have to supply the smart license cards in the next three months. The DoTM will approve card design in the 10 days after awarding the contract.
The DoTM has earmarked around Rs 120 million to distribute 1.2 million license cards. Earlier, the department signed a contract with Madras Security Printers to supply 1.4 million smart license cards.
