District Election Office recommends bringing remote ballot boxes by helicopter

TAPLEJUNG, Nov 14: It has been recommended to the Election Commission (EC) to bring the ballot boxes of four polling stations in remote areas of Taplejung to the main election office by a helicopter.

District Election Officer Dinesh Khanal said that the District Election Management Committee has recommended to the EC to bring ballot boxes to the polling stations that are not accessible by land route and are at a long distance from the headquarters.

According to Khanal, it is recommended to bring the ballot boxes of Paktanglung Rural Municipality-7 Olangchung Gola, Yangma, Paktanglung Rural Municipality-6 Ghunsa and Gybla by a helicopter.

According to the District Election Office, there are 169 voters in Ghunsa basic school polling station located in Paktanglung Rural Municipality-6 and 67 voters in Gybla basic school polling station. There are 284 voters in the ward office polling station in Olangchung Gola and 61 voters in the Yangma Basic School polling station. In the last representative and provincial assembly elections, the ballot boxes of that area were brought to Fungling by a helicopter.
