'Distribute land ownership certificates to landless dwellers'

KATHMANDU, June 28: Lawmaker Satya Narayan Sharma Khanal has drawn the attention of the government to distribute land ownership certificates to the landless squatters dwelling in various settlements of Nawalparashi district. 


Speaking in the zero hour of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday, lawmaker Khanal shared that the erstwhile government in 1998 had provided land for the landless people in the district. “Twenty years have elapsed but the landless people have not got the land ownership documents yet,” he said.

Basanta Kumar Nembang demanded compensation to 50 people from 11 households in Panchthar district.  Similarly, 50 households affected by the rains were also awaiting relief amount in the district, he added. 


Binda Pandey expressed her concern over irresponsibility of the people’s representatives from the local level to the central level to their people. Satya Pahadi pressed for well-preparedness for the natural disasters and guarantee of loan on the basis of academic certificate to the youths.


Sarita Kumari Giri demanded a probe into the Saptari incident while Sita Devi Yadav demanded an action against Mayor of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City Dwarika Lal Chaudhary. 


Surya Prasad Pahadi said that the quality of education in the community schools was eroding lately. Hira Gurung claimed that the fund of PM Employment Programme was misused. Gyanendra Bahadur Karki demanded solid development of the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reservoir in Sunsari district.
