KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Journalist Rishi Dhamala, who is facing criminal charge under the Arms and Ammunitions Act, has refuted the recorded phone conversation released by the police as evidence to substantiate the charge against him.

“The voice in the recording is not mine,” Dhamala was quoted as saying to government lawyers while submitting his statements on Sunday.

The conversation believed to be between Dhamala and cadres of the Ranabir Sena was relased by police as evidence against the charge against him a day after his arrest on February 4.

According to a source at the District Attorney´s office, Dhamala also denied having any link with Ranabir Sena, an underground armed outfit held responsible for a couple of bomb blasts in Kathmandu last year.

The source said the government prosecutors completed collecting statements from Dhamala, who is in police custody for the last two weeks following an order by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu.
