TANAHUN, Jan11: Though imported clothes are used in high number in Nepal, local handmade dhaka clothes are also in demand. The products are specially gaining popularity in Tanahun Baazar as they are selling in good number.
According to the local business owners, clothes made of dhaka such as caps, mufflers, saris, kurtha suruwals, and shawls as well as bags are the most popular. Nevertheless, the production rate of these dhaka items has not been able to meet the demand. To fulfill this gap, the Department of Cottage and Small Industries Development Board, Damauli has been providing the local youths with the skill to weave dhaka items to boost production.
