KATHMANDU, March 1: The Shivaratri festival is being celebrated across the country today. Devotees have been flocking to the Shiva temples including Pashupatinath in Kathmandu since this morning on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.

KATHMANDU, March 1: The Shivaratri festival is being celebrated across the country today. Devotees have been flocking to the Shiva temples including Pashupatinath in Kathmandu since this morning on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.


The festival is being celebrated all over the country today by worshiping Lord Shiva.

Similarly, a huge crowd of saints, sadhus and devotees has gathered in the Pashupati area today. There is a religious belief that worshiping Shiva on the day of Maha Shivaratri brings happiness, peace and prosperity to the family.


Similarly, there is a religious belief that an unmarried woman can get a good groom by worshiping Lord Shiva. All four doors of the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu have been opened for the general devotees on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. Arrangements have been made for special worship at the temple.


Crowds of visitors and devotees have been flocking to the Pashupati premises and Bagmati banks since last night. The Pashupati area has been adorned and decorated targeting the Maha Shivaratri festival. Thousands of sadhus and pilgrims from India also come to Pashupati on Shivaratri every year.
