KATHMANDU, Jan 5: 122 Chinese nationals who were detained on the charge of their involvement in cross-border cybercrimes two weeks ago from various locations of Kathmandu have been released on bail of Rs 1000 each on Sunday.
The District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu decided to release the Chinese nationals on bail after the police failed to gather evidence to substantiate the cross-border online fraud allegations against them.
However, the Chinese nationals have been fined Rs 1000 each on the charge of misbehaving police during the police interrogation in custody.
DAO releases arrested Chinese on bail
The DAO Kathmandu is preparing to hand over the Chinese nationals to the Department of Immigration, according to authorities.
