The Maoist chairman cautioned the leaders and ministers at a meeting of Dahal-headed Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) on Monday, urging one and all to take all the actions of the head of the state as efforts to avert a crisis.[break]
"The president is very serious toward ending the present political stalemate and he is working in a responsible way. Therefore, the ministers and other leaders shouldn´t make irresponsible remarks against him," FDRA Spokesman Prem Bahadur Singh quoted Dahal as saying at the meeting. "It is the president´s duty to press us leaders to reach an agreement on ending the political deadlock. So we should take it positively."
Dahal said at the meeting that the president has already made it clear that any step to be taken by him would be as per the suggestions offered by the political parties. "So, we should take the president´s initiatives in good faith."
Dahal´s warning to ministers and leaders came at a time when his own party spokesman Agni Prasad Sapkota and Finance Minister Barshaman Pun had accused the president of trying to take over the power by dissolving the present government.
The finance minister had publicly said that the government had learned of the president´s plan to take over the power. Likewise, (UCPN) Maoist spokesman Sapkota warned President Yadav of similar fate as former King Gyanendra if he didn´t stop extra-constitutional activities.
Dahal had called on President Yadav on Sunday and the head of the state had reportedly expressed his concerns about the public remarks of the senior Maoist leader and the minister accusing him of trying to take over the power.
