Dahal, Khanal hold talks

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Chairman of Unified CPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal held talks on latest political developments on Tuesday.



During the talks held at Dahal´s residence in Naya Bazaar, the duo discussed the political deadlock created following the Maoist proposal for special session the Parliament, said UML leader Ashok Rai, who was also present in the meeting.[break]



Dahal enquired about Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal´s proposal to make Nepal Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel as the new prime minister in Monday´s meeting between the three main parties.



In response, Khanal said the request was the Prime Minister´s personal view, not the party´s official position.



He also apprised Dahal about UML´s decision to vote against the Maoist proposal in the Parliament if it was not withdrawn.



They also discussed whether to extend UNMIN´s term and special session of the House.
