KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Chairman of the main opposition party CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has lamented the dearth of dialogue between the ruling and opposition parties.
Addressing the 7th annual general meeting of the Federation of Nepal National Entrepreneurs in Kathmandu on Saturday, former Prime Minister Dahal mentioned that although there have been many initiatives for consensus and dialogue, the problem is becoming more complicated due to the lack of dialogue between the ruling party and the opposition. He criticized the role of both the ruling parties and the opposition for the stalemate.
“Saying one thing when in power and another when in opposition, has been a persistent problem in Nepali politics,” he said. He mentioned that he is ready to support good governance, social justice, and economic development even while being in the opposition.

Chairman Dahal stressed that the country's situation is serious and complex and stressed the need to have a culture of working with good intentions and integrity in politics. He emphasized that cleanliness and reform in politics will have a positive impact on the progress of the entire country.
Dahal stressed that the government should be serious in solving the problems of entrepreneurs. He said that loans should be provided to small and medium entrepreneurs at subsidized interest rates without collateral on the recommendation of the local government.
He also emphasized the need to implement a single-door system to simplify the business registration system, revise customs rates in a timely manner, implement a scientific house rent tax in urban areas, and improve the tax process so that there is no review after issuing the certificate.
Dahal called the agendas raised by the Federation on the problems of businessmen as timely and opined that the government should show readiness in creating a business-friendly environment.
