Ace footballer and captain of the Portugal football team, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Coca-cola snub led to a meteoric fall in the share prices of the soft-drink manufacturing company. The star footballer had removed the Coca-Cola bottles from a Euro 2020 news conference on Monday (14 June), which led to a fall in the company's market value by $4 billion.
The 36-year-old athlete is known to follow a stringent diet and fitness routine, and is one of the game’s fittest people even at this age.

The incident happened during a press conference in Budapest before Portugal’s match-up against Hungary at Euro 2020. When the Coca-cola bottles were kept in fron the of Portugal captain, he hid them from the display and gestured the people to instead 'drink water’ instead of the carbonated drinks. The video of the whole incident was shared widely on social media.
Notably, in the game against Hungary Ronaldo scored two goals leading his team to victory, and at the same time, he surpassed France's Michel Platini as the all-time leading goal scorer of the tournament with 11 goals.
