KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Sanskriti International School felicitated sportspersons with the ‘Sanskriti Sports Samman’ annual sports award to encourage rising sports talents of the nation.
According to a statement issued by the school, the Sanskriti Sportsperson of the Year award, 2023, was presented to Kushal Malla, for scoring the fastest T20I century off just 34 balls in the opening match of the 2022 Asian Games against Mongolia. The award was handed over to Kushal Malla by former national cricket team’s captain Paras Khadka, the chief guest of the program, , in the presence of Ranjit Acharya, chairperson of Sanskriti International School. Khadka handed over a cheque of Rs 1,01,000 to Malla.

Similarly, the school also provided a training scholarship worth Rs 50,000 to cricketer Soni Pakhrin. This training scholarship is provided to deserving under-19 cricket players from across the country who cannot afford professional training, the school said in the statement.
Soni Pakhrin is currently in the national women’s cricket team of Nepal. This training will be provided by the Cricket Excellence Centre, run by cricketer Paras Khadka, the statement added.
“At Sanskriti, we are committed to fostering the holistic development of our students and contributing to society. Through the ‘Sanskriti Sports Samman’ annual award, we aim to inspire our national talents and instill in our students a sense of responsibility towards building a compassionate society,” the statement quoted Ranjit Acharya, chairperson of Sanskriti International School, as saying.
“We extend our heartfelt wishes to Kushal Malla for a successful journey in days to come, hoping he achieves much bigger milestones in future. Additionally, we congratulate Soni Pakhrin on securing the training scholarship and express our hope for her future selection in the national cricket team,” Acharya added.
