NEPALGUNJ, Aug 27: The COVID-19 death toll in Banke district climbed to six with a 70-year-old woman dying of novel coronavirus disease in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-7 on Thursday afternoon.
Chief District Officer of Banke, Ram Bahadur Kurungbang told Republica that the woman breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College at around 12 noon. She was admitted to the hospital after having breathing difficulties on August 22. Her throat swab sample was collected and sent for COVID-19 testing which came out positive.
Coronavirus-related death toll in Banke rises to 31
On Tuesday, a man, aged 37, from Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-1, succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease. He passed away at around 1 AM on Tuesday. Banke has witnessed a significant number of coronavirus cases in recent weeks.
