In-charge at the Mahendranagar Area Police Office Arun Kumar Kushwaha was felicitated by local businessmen on Saturday in recognition of his outstanding work during his 13-month tenure at the office.
Ashok Jha, his successor, will have big foots to fill in as the Area Police Office looks after 16 VDCs including Mahendranagar, the second largest town in Dhanusha.
President of Mahendranagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ramji Singh said Kushwaha was felicitated in recognition of his sincere and courageous work. “We must honor the efficiency of Kushwahaji at a time when locals and businessmen across the country are feeling insecure,” Singh said at the program that also bade farewell to Kushwaha.

“He was the first honest officer to come here and cleansed Mahendranagar, considered the crime hub among three districts of the region, of all types of crimes,” Singh added. Singh also urged the District Police Office to extend Kushwaha´s term.
The 40-year-old officer from Bhishwa-3 of Parsa had joined Nepal Police as an Assistant Sub Inspector 15 years ago. He expressed happiness for being able to rid people of anxiety and fear though he was never stress-free.
“I was alert before I came here as I was aware of this place being a center for crimes. I immediately took weapon-wielding criminals under control,” Kushwaha talked about his modus operandi. He feels successful in being able to fulfill his duty.
At the program, leaders of various political parties also praised Kushwaha for being able to control crimes.
