Continue NTY momentum: Experts

KATHMANDU: Tourism experts have called on the government and the private sector to review performance of Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 campaign and ensure continuation of the momentum that the year-long campaign has created.



Speaking at an interaction on ´Lessons Learned from NTY 2011´ organized by Journalists´ Association for Tourism-Nepal (JAT-Nepal), they said NTY targets could have been achieved had the government expanded fleet of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) as promised. [break]



According to a press release, former CEO of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Prachanda Man Shrestha, in his keynote speech, said the tourism industry can reap benefits from consumer marketing schemes started during the campaign for many years to come.



Former vice-chairman of National Planning Commission Jagadish Chandra Pokharel, former NAC chairman NAC Sugat Ratna Kansakar and coordinator of NTY Implementation Committee Yogendra Shakya also spoke on the occasion, according to the release.
