Police personnel in Dailekh District Police Office ran outdoors in panic after they heard a sudden boom of a gunfire this morning. When they recollected their senses and went inside the room of Inspector Bhatta, they found him lying dead.The incident took place at 5 am today. The assailant Constable Sharma shot at himself after shooting at Inspector Bhatta. Assaulted Bhatta has received two bullets in his head, a source at District Police Office, Dailekh, said. [break]

Seriously injured Sharma was rushed to a Dailekh District Hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
A huge crowd of locals has thronged the district police headquarters to inquire about the incident.
The investigation is underway to establish the cause behind the incident, District Police Chief DSP Prajwal Maharjan told Republica.
DSP Prajwal has been working as the in-charge of Dailekh District Office since six months after he was transferred to the district from Singh Durbar, Kathmandu.
