Conference on reconstruction 'opportunity to improve bilateral relations'

KATHMANDU, June 23: Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey has said that International Conference on Nepal's Reconstruction being held on Thursday offers Nepal an opportunity to improve bilateral relations with a number of countries.

Addressing a press conference organized at Finance Ministry to brief about the International Conference on Reconstruction, Minister Pandey said the conference would also give a message to Nepali society that international community stands with Nepal at this critical time.

He also said that the conference is expected boost Nepal's ailing tourism by sending out the message to the world that Nepal is still safe despite such massive earthquake.

"We are organizing this conference to draw the attention of the international community toward Nepal before something else diverts their focus," he further said. Minister Pandey said Nepal will try to apprise international community of the scale of loss Nepal suffered during the earthquake.
