The details of the inmates have been collected as per the circular issued by the National Identity Card and Registration Department. Khagendra Bharti, information officer at the District Administration Office, Baitadi, said that a team and details were being collected inside the prison as bringing out the inmates would pose a security challenge.

Details of 83,383 people have been collected in Baitadi since the first week of September, 2020. Initially, data collection was done at the District Administration Office, but now it is being done at local level as a campaign, said Chief District Officer Suresh Panthi.
