Under KC, Friends had achieved three wins and draws each and a defeat during the super league last season. Friends had also earned the second highest points in the super league. KC had joined Friends on loan from Himalayan Sherpa for the super league as per the agreement between the two clubs.
"Friends asked me to give continuity as I´ve been looking after the club since the super league," said the 39-year-old resident of Jawalakhel, "I found the proposal suitable."
Almost all senior players of the club including skipper Sagar Thapa, Jagjeet Shrestha, Nirajan Khadka, Prakash Budhathoki and Leonce Dodoz have left the club this season.
Meanwhile, Friends has signed former national player Ranjit Shrestha, who returned from Korea after two years, Pukar Ale and Ajeet Prajapati of Bansbari, Victor, Susan Lama and Buddha Lama of Bauddha, and Arjun Subba of APF. Similarly, Friends has given continuity to its old players Deepak Gurung, Ritesh Malla, Bishnu KC, Maniram Chaudhary, Kuber Singh, Gajendra Shahi and Santosh Tamang.
According to newly appointed coach KC, the team has been preparing for the Gurkha Cup for the last 10 days. "We have young players and I have requested the club to arrange for a regular training. I will do my best to fulfill my duty. A lot of things depend on the support from players and club."
According to President Rana, the club will hire new players after analyzing the team´s performance during the Gurkha Cup.
