Clarification sought from ERC Chairman Singh

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The Election Commission has sought an explanation from Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman Dilli Bahadur Singh regarding his post on social media against Energy Minister Pampha Bhusal, the candidate for the post of Member of the House of Representatives of Lalitpur constituency No. 3.

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The Election Commission has sought an explanation from Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman Dilli Bahadur Singh regarding his post on social media against Energy Minister Pampha Bhusal, the candidate for the post of Member of the House of Representatives of Lalitpur constituency No. 3.


Likewise, an explanation has been sought regarding the threat made by Nepali Congress candidate Ramesh Rizal for the post of Member of the House of Representatives of Constituency No. 4 in Parsa. He made the alleged threat to Chief Funds Controller Rudra Bahadur Karki, who is the Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer in the district.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) and the candidate for the post of member of the House of Representatives from Gorkha constituency No. 2, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice President Narayan Kaji Shrestha and the Chairman of Rashtriya Swatantra Party and candidate for the post of member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan constituency No. 2 Rabi Lamichhane has been asked to furnish an explanation regarding the use of a hat with party symbols and slogans during election campaigning.


Also today, the EC asked President of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party and candidate for Member of the House of Representatives of Mahottari constituency No. 3, Mahantha Thakur, Hukum Bahadur Basnet, UML candidate for the post of Member of Provincial Assembly of Dang constituency No. 3 (2) and Independent Candidate of Jhapa constituency No. 2 Bhadra Prasad Nepal for the use of children and minors in election campaigning.


All the clarifications have been sought based on complaints received at the Commission.
