CII hosting mega construction equipment expo from Nov 22

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing ‘CII ConMac 2018’, an exhibition of construction equipment, in Nepal beginning Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing ‘CII ConMac 2018’, an exhibition of construction equipment, in Nepal beginning Thursday. 


Organizing a press meet in the capital on Monday, the CII said that the largest construction equipment exhibition in Nepal will be organized on November 22-24 at Sallahghari Open Ground in Bhaktapur. 


More than 150 exhibitors will be participating at the international expo, to be hosted on a gross display area of 250,000 square feet, the organizers said.

The event is expected to attract over 10,000 business visitors from across the country. The event is going to be organized by the CII in association with the Embassy of India in Nepal. The expo is supported by the Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN), with the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association as the sector partner. 


“With the participation of Government of India, CII ConMac 2018 - An Excon Show, will be the largest focused platform for the construction equipment industry to showcase their technology and equipment for the accelerated growth of the infrastructure sector in Nepal,” read a statement of the CII issued after the press meet. 


With Nepal facing a large shortage of skilled manpower, this exhibition also aims to assist and empower contractors by providing them with the latest in technology and capacity enhancement within the construction sector, according to the statement. 


Vishnu Agarwal, a member at CII ConMac 2018 and Chairman of MAW Earthmovers, said that the exhibition would be an unparalleled platform to see world class construction equipment at one place.


“Through this event, a new benchmark for professionalism will be established in Nepal paving the way for more such exhibitions in different sectors,” he said, speaking at the press meet. 


Kedar Lamichhane, another member of CII ConMac 2018 and Director of FG Incorporated Pvt Ltd, said that the event will also be a good opportunity for contractors to capitalize on financing options for purchasing equipment and take advantage of the special offers by equipment manufacturers. 


The event will also help contractors to compare machinery and technology available from different participating manufactures and take an informed decision on their purchase of construction equipment, he said.
