CIAA summons Lalitpur Mayor Maharjan amid allegations of unauthorized fund distribution to flood victims

KATHMANDU, July 4: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has summoned Chiribabu Maharjan, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

The Commission acted following a complaint alleging an unauthorized distribution of funds in the name of flood victims.

The complaint, filed with the Authority, claims that Rs 150,000 and Rs 250,000 were distributed to flood victims in Dhapakhel in 2077 BS, contrary to executive decisions.

Recently, Lalitpur Metropolitan City reported encroachment upon temple land, leading to a bulldozer allegedly damaging CIAA Commissioner Sumitra Amatya’s compound wall.
